Ron Davis

Saxophone

Ron Davis is a graduate of West Texas State University (now West Texas A&M University). He has a BM in music education and a MM in Saxophone Performance from that institution and was the graduate assistant in woodwinds and jazz while working on his Masters. Mr Davis spent 30 years as a high school band director in Abilene, Midland, Marble Falls and Belton. His bands were consistent UIL sweepstakes winners and were also selected to perform as a featured group at Carnegie Hall on 2 occasions as well as the Kennedy Center. During that time he was also the on call saxophonist for the Amarillo Symphony and the Midland/Odessa Symphony. Mr Davis is an active clinician and has served as the selector for the TMEA ALL STATE Audition Music on 3 separate occasions (most recently in 2019). Mr. Davis has also served as the All State sectional clinician and is active in maintaining his studio and masterclass schedule in the north Texas area. In 2019 Mr Davis was the recipient of the Foundation Award from the Foundation for Music Education in recognition of exemplary teaching over a sustained period of time.
